OLD MAN'S NAME WAS 'HADAL'. STILL WE REMEMBER HIM AS 'BABA HADAL'. HE WAS THE FOUNDER OF PHARALA. THERE IS NO GURDWARA ON HIS NAME. BECAUSE HE LIVED BEFORE THE GURDWARA SYSTEM. WHEN SEVENTH GURU CAME TO PHARALA THE VILLAGE HAD BEEN ESTABLISHED PROPERLY. THERE IS A SEAT OF BABA HADAL OR GADDHI OF BABA HADAL NEAR GABHLA KHUH YOU CAN A RED THARRA. HE USED TO SIT THERE AND LISTNEN VILLAGERS PROBLEMS. THAT IS A HOLY PLACE FOR PHARALAVI. PEOPLE STILL LIT DEEVA THERE AND BOW THERE HEAD. BABA HADAL LIVED MORE THAN HUNDRED YEARS. HE BROUGHT THE OTHER CASTS TO PHARALA. FOR EXAMPLE JHEER CAST CAME FROM NEARBY VILLAGE MUNNA AND PUNDIT CAME FROM A VILLAGE NEARBY JALANDHAR AND SO ON. MOST OF THE JATT PEOPLE CAME FROM RAJASTHAN. ACCORDING TO MOST POPULAR THEORY A TRIBE WAS DOING SOME BUSINESS OF TAKING THE GOODS FROM SOUTH TO NORTH. THE TRIBE WAS USING CAMELS AS TRANSPORT. WHEN LOOTERS OR DACCU OR EVEN ARMY DISTURBED THEM THEY STARTED TO FIND THE PLACES TO SETTLE DOWN. THE TRIBE WAS KNOWN AS 'UT WALE' MEANS CAMEL OWNERS.ATWAL IS CORRUPTED WORD OF UTWAL. SOME PEOPLE WRITE THEMSELVES ATHWAL BECAUSE THEY CALL CAMEL 'UTH'  OR 'OOTH' AND IN OUR AREA WE CALL CAMEL 'UT' OR 'OOT'. ATWAL OR ATHWAL IS SAME THING JUST DIFFERENCE OF PRONUNCIATION.

Hi

I belong to Saraswat brahmin family from village Kathar..District Jalandhar near Adampur Doaba..Our Gotra is Sangar and we have our Jathere situated in village Kathar itself...it is there for the centuries before and it was in a very miserable conditon and lot of encroachments..but now it is free from encroachments and we have made a nice Bhawan for the Jathere....if any body has chance to visit pls do so it is in the village kathar and is quite opposite the Village Gurudwara....and it is called Jathere Brahmina Gotra Sangar

I dont think that the every Brahimin of Sangar Gotra is from Farala....and I agree that there are lot of Sangar families lives there....Pls let me know if anybody knows more about our ancestors...Let the all Sangar families have a common platform....Could it be possible?
